Eunice Cowles Obituary

Eunice Cowles (Carnagey), 91

Eunice Ellen Cowles (Carnagey) 91 + years

Eunice left this world, peacefully passing to Heaven on August 21, 2025. She was born April 25, 1934, the eldest of seven children to Shirley and Edna Carnagey in Joliet, Montana. At age five, her family moved to north Idaho where she grew to become a dedicated helper in caring for the youngest siblings and contributing to the home work of the farm near Cave Lake. She enjoyed her schoolmates and established lifetime relationships with some. Following graduation in 1952, Eunice then attended North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene. She continued studies in Spokane, Washington, completing coursework at Kinman Business Institute in a "master of accounting" program.

She and her beloved spouse of 65 years, H. Elroy Cowles were married on September 24, 1954. While raising their own family, Eunice worked inventory control as a valuable employee of Brack's Motor Supply. In 1984, they moved West to the Kitsap Penninsula region. Eunice worked 12 years as a procurement buyer for Puget Sound Naval Shipyards until her retirement in 1996.

Eunice is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Susan J. Palmer of Coeur d'Alene, and Sylvia J. Krofft of Bremerton, Washington; son, Raymond S. Cowles of Port Orchard, Washington; and daughter-in-law Christine Cowles. Proudly she was Grandma to: Aaron Krofft – deceased 2004, Norina Cowles of Hillsborough, North Carolina, Melissa Cowles – deceased 2019, Reuben (and Erin) Krofft of Rockville, Maryland, Raymond E. Cowles of Seattle, Washington, Seana (and Chance) Merchant of Puyallup, Washington, Stephanie Meade of Rathdrum, Idaho, Annie Musser of Boone, Iowa, Sarah (and Travis) Pfrimmer of Boone, Iowa; she was blessed with thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous loved nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Throughout life Eunice kept a warm and prayerful heart for her siblings: Irene Sonnichsen – deceased 2022, Mary Alice Bailey of Gresham, Oregon, Betty Jean Graybill (and Jerry) – deceased 2003 of Pinehurst, Idaho, Ruthie Montgomery of Lewiston, Idaho, Jim (and Sandi) Carnagey of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Reeva (and John) Bohannon of Livingston, Montana.

Eunice had a strong trust in her Lord Jesus. In life she made worship and participation within a Christian community a priority. She currently was a member of GracePoint Church in Bremerton, Washington where she especially enjoyed nursery care, the Watch Our Widows (WOW) activities and LifeGroup studies.
