Kyle Mabe Obituary

Kyle E. Mabe, 88

Kyle E. Mabe of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away June 27, 2025 at home with family and faithful chihuahua Pearl by his side.

Kyle was born Nov 14, 1936 in Emmett, Idaho to Glen and Margaret (Knox) Mabe. He grew up hunting, fishing and working on his grandfather's ranch.

Kyle joined the Navy after high school as a heavy equipment operator in the Sea Bees (Construction Battalion). Kyle would say "It was my pleasure" when he was thanked for his service.

After the Navy, Kyle became an Idaho State Policeman in Southern Idaho for a few years. He went into logging and truck driving, moving to Lewiston and Post Falls, Idaho. He drove chip truck for Excel Transport for many years, then hauled manufactured homes, mobile office units and freight until he retired at the age of 73.

Kyle enjoyed riding motorcycles most of his life, and was the first rider from Idaho to complete the SCMA's Four Corners Tour, riding to the 4 corners of the US in 21 days or less. He met his wife Wendy (in a bar!), by offering to take her for a ride in January! He taught her to ride her own motorcycle and they enjoyed many long-distance trips to and through most of the western states. They also enjoyed traveling by RV to visit friends and family.

Kyle is survived by Wendy, his wife of 35 years, at home in Post Falls, daughter Teresa (Bill) Golson of St. Helens, OR; Lewis (Heidi) Cutler of Maricopa, AZ; grandchildren Josh Golson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Tia (Korbin) McConnell of St Helen's, OR; Ashley (Arturo) Garcia of Tigard, OR; DJ (Gente') Shaw of Damascus OR; soon to be 8 great-grandchildren; and his brother Dan (Leora) Mabe of Eagle, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Margaret, daughter Cynthia, son Kyle Jr, brother Dean, stepfather John Dickeson and "sister" Margaret King.

Kyle's Celebration of Life will be 3pm, August 17th at home, 1943 W Cannon Ave, Post Falls, Idaho. Food will be provided. The gathering will be in the yard, weather permitting. Please dress comfortably! Please make donations if you wish to the Coeur d'Alene Parkinson's Support Group, cdaparkinsons.com, or Hospice of North Idaho, hospiceofnorthidaho.org. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls is assisting with arrangements.
