Marilyn Fay (Selves) Sullivan -- aka Marilyn Fricke
May 20, 1940 – October 1, 2025
Marilyn attended Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, Class of 1958, Washington State University, and Deaconess Medical Center for medical technician training.
After schooling, she toured Europe with two friends. Marilyn married Stan Sullivan in 1965. They had two children, Michael and Jaque.
Marilyn embarked on what was to become a 40-year career with Pathology Associates Medical Laboratory, retiring as marketing manager in 2006.
Stan and Marilyn divorced in 1977. In 1985 she became reacquainted with a high school friend, Fred Fricke. They became lifelong partners. Together in 2005, they designed and started building their retirement home on the shore of Echo Bay on Lake Coeur d'Alene. They also enjoyed many adventures taken with dear friends, Phil and Karen Korell.
Throughout her adult life, Marilyn was involved with many civic activities and charities in Spokane. She was active in a bridge club and an investment club. She was a member of the Junior League and active in SCAN (Suspected Child Abuse Network). In retirement, she was a member of the East Side Fire District Auxiliary. Fred and Marilyn married in 2021.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Alvina (Hemingway) Selves; sister, Jana; son, Michael; and grandson, Drake Remlinger. She is survived by her husband, Fred; daughter, Jaque; grandchildren: Dayne, Devin, Jessica, and Julia Remlinger; stepdaughter, Gretchen; stepson, Mark; step-grandchildren: Brittany, Austin, Haven, Peyton, and Dutch; and four great grandchildren.
Sincere thanks to Auburn Crest Hospice: Nikki, Holly, Randi, Todd, and Chaplain Dave for their kind care of Marilyn. A special thanks to her caregiver, Tram. They all loved Marilyn very much.
Contributions in Marilyn's name may be made to the Hutton Settlement Children's Home in Spokane or to the East Side Fire District Auxiliary, Harrison, Idaho.
