Marilyn Turner Obituary

Marilyn Elaine Turner, 82

Marilyn Turner, surrounded by her loved ones, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024.

Born on February 13, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marilyn was one of five children to Lorin Pincock and Lorna Jensen. She embraced life with warmth and compassion, qualities that endeared her to everyone she met.

Marilyn married her first husband, Darrell Hall in Ogden, Utah. Ogden is where they had their first two children, Rick and Sherry. They moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in 1961, where they had their two youngest children, Darla and Reed.

In 1977, she found true love with Dale Wayne Turner, and together they created a beautiful life filled with joy and love in Northern Idaho.

Marilyn's legacy is one of kindness and generosity. She was affectionately known as Peach's, Mar-Mar, Watermelon, GMA, GramCracker, and Mom. Those who knew her remember her striking blue eyes and the radiant smile that lit up every room. She touched lives with her simple acts of kindness, decorated countless weddings, and offered healing through her nurturing spirit. She was always the first to rise and the last to rest, embodying a spirit of dedication and love. Above all, her greatest legacy is the profound love she shared with her family, friends, and church community.

Marilyn is survived by her loving children: Rick (Lynette) Hall, Sherry (Dennis) Downer, Darla (Robert) Cox, and Reed (Lisa) Hall. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Julie Creek (Craig) Jackson; Daleen Fisher; Taunia Cope; and Ronda Ramsey; as well as her siblings: Lorin Dwight (Vellis) Pincock, Janice Kaye (Cleve) Van Orden; and her cherished 97 total grandchildren. 33 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Sharlene Hill and Janeal Pincock; and her beloved husband, Dale Turner.

Marilyn will be deeply missed, but her love will remain in our hearts forever.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out with love and condolences during this difficult time. As our mom would say: Hallelujah Henrietta George; For Crying out loud; For Heaven's Sake; Quick like a Bunny; Crud Buckets; Good night nurse; Believe you me; I gotta piddle; For Heck sake; Shit oh dear; Well I'll be jiggered; and our favorite Sugar Jets!

A viewing will be held from 5:00-6:00PM, Friday, January 10, 2025 at Yates Funeral Home – Coeur d'Alene Chapel (744 N. 4th St. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho 83814). The funeral service will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (477 E. Honeysuckle Ave. Hayden, Idaho 83835). The luncheon will immediately follow the service. A graveside will then be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens (7315 N. Government Way Coeur d'Alene, Idaho 83815).
