Nicholas Covarrubias Obituary
Nicholas (Nick) Covarrubias, 39
Nicholas "Nick" Covarrubias, a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend to many, peacefully entered into eternal rest in Phoenix, AZ on August 16, 2025, after a long and courageous illness.
Born on June 16, 1986, to Carol Herby Covarrubias and Oscar Covarrubias, Nick grew up in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where he cultivated a deep love for nature, sports, and family. He was known for his kind and pure heart, his radiant smile, and his ability to make others feel truly seen and loved.
A gifted athlete and devoted sports fan, Nick found joy in cheering for his favorite teams-the Seattle Mariners, Seattle Seahawks, and Phoenix Suns. He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished camping trips, snowboarding adventures, and traveling to new places. A passionate history and movie buff, Nick had an extraordinary memory for details and delighted in sharing stories and facts with those around him.
Nick's greatest joy was spending time with family. He treasured reunions, holidays, and simple get-togethers, always bringing warmth and laughter to every gathering. His spirit was gentle, his loyalty unwavering, and his love for others deeply rooted in faith and grace.
He now joins his beloved grandparents, Herman and Florence Herby; his cherished uncle, Jim Herby; and numerous other family members in heaven. We take comfort in knowing he is embraced by divine love and reunited with those who went before him.
Nick is survived by his parents and loving brother, Cameron Covarrubias. His legacy lives on in their hearts and in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
A celebration of Nick's life will be held Thursday, August 28th from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Corbin Park in Post Falls. All are welcome.
Nick's journey on earth may have ended, but his soul shines on. He will be remembered always for the joy he brought, the love he gave, and the light he leaves behind.
