Robert Hubof Obituary

Robert "Bob" Hubof, 73

Robert Wayne Hubof (Bob) passed away peacefully in Coeur d'Alene Idaho on February 3, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. He was born August 25, 1949 in Coeur d'Alene Idaho to Frank and Thelma Hubof.

Bob graduated from Post Falls High School in 1968 and Eastern Washington State College in 1972 with a teaching degree. He then became an elementary teacher for 35 years in Post Falls. His booming voice countered his small stature which commanded admiral respect from his students. He had a very positive affect on his students who loved and respected him.

Being a dwarf never limited activities he participated in. He played the trumpet in the high school band, was on the wrestling team and golf team. Bob bragged that no opponent could pin him wrestling because he would arch his back and hold that position. It is said he could drive a golf ball 185 yards.

He was very active in the community volunteering for the Post Falls Police Department where he helped set up in-house training courses, a shooting range and he answered 911 calls while dispatching. He also was a volunteer on the Post Falls Fire Department where he would ride with the firefighters. He was a member of Little People of America where he developed many friends.

Bob's favorite volunteering position was that of being a Post Falls Lion where he enjoyed the camaraderie and positive things done for the community. One of his favorite jobs with the Lion's Club was that of a ticket taker for their Haunted House where he would try to look scary to those entering. He was awarded a plaque for Humanitarian Services by the Lion's Club.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Thelma Hubof, and his wives Brigid and Pam. He is survived by his daughter Heidi Crowell, grandchildren Presley, Isaac, Riley and Katie, and his brother Jon Hubof.

Bob will be remembered for his fierce determination, empathy, kindness to others, and the ability to make others laugh by making jokes about himself.

He was always positive about life, never complained and always had a smile on his face. He had an infectious laugh and wonderful sense of humor.

He will be missed by many whose lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, please make any charitable donations to the Post Falls Lion's Foundation at P.O. Box 1076, Post Falls, ID 83877. Arrangements are through English Funeral Chapel.

Celebration of Life will be held on March 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the American Legion 1138 E. Poleline Avenue, Post Falls, ID 83854.

I fondly remember Bobby when we attended NIJC together. He had a new knock knock joke everyday.

I had the privilege of being one of many that Mr. Hubof inspired while I was a student at the elementary school he taught at. We had many laughs and even years later he still remembered me when I would see him in town. I saw him later and I got to tell him that I was building a home and he wanted to celebrate when I signed on it. I will always remember him and the piece of my heart that he had. I know that I will get to see him again some day and that he's soaring over us now. Rest In God's Peace Mr. Hubof. You will forever be remembered and cherished.

It was people like you Bobby that made Post Falls a special place to grow up. Will never forget the time we got in a fight and you beat the heck out of me. You were in the sixth grade and I was a little third grader, but I think I still had a few inches on you. Love you Bobby!
