Timothy Cushman Obituary
Timothy David Cushman, 73
May 13, 1952 - August 10, 2025

Tim Cushman, 73, a longtime resident of Kellogg, ID, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025 in Monroe, NC. He was born in Bremerton, WA on May 13, 1952, son of the late David Dawson Cushman and Donna Jean Phillips Cushman.

Tim graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School, Class of 1970, and enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served from 1971 to 1985, achieving the rank of GMG2 and earning the Vietnam Service Medal.

Tim is survived by his loving wife, Debbie S. Cushman; two sons, Adrian Cushman (Kim) and Sherwin Avila (Annette); three daughters, Kaitlyn Burkley (Sean), Gloria Mazaheri (Dan), and Maria-Cristina Jenicek (Todd); a brother, Bruce Cushman; three sisters, Teresa Hooker (Gary), Nancy Flamand (Dusty), and Cindy Jarnagin (Frank); 12 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters and many beloved nieces and nephews.

To know Tim was to know a man with grit and heart. He was larger than life, he never met a stranger, and could talk the paint off a wall. He was a history buff and an avid reader. He loved to talk about his younger years and always had a story to tell. What he was best known for, though, was his cooking. He often joked, "If you make them wait long enough, they'll eat anything,"-and though dinner was often late, it was always worth the wait.

Tim was also a man who accomplished anything he set his mind to-including completing the full Coeur d'Alene Ironman race in 2007, a feat he was immensely proud of. He loved tending his garden, growing the largest Dahlias and heirloom tomatoes this side of the Mississippi, puttering around the kitchen with his lovely wife Debbie, and having a good yap-most likely with a drink in hand. He had a special love for four-legged animals and most of all, he had a heart of pure gold.

To know Tim was to know the immense love he had for his family. Tim's proudest accomplishment was his kids and grandbabies. He poured his love, lessons, and laughter into them, and his legacy will live on through their lives.

Friends and loved ones are invited to join a Potluck Celebration of Life held in his honor on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cd'A Eagles, 209 Sherman Ave, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814.
