Carl Washington Vaughn, Jr., 71 of North East, MD, died Saturday, August 30, 2025, at home with his family by his side.

Born in Elkton, MD, on October 23, 1953, he was the son of the late Carl Washington and Vdare (Roark) Vaughn.

He was a machinist, employed by DuPont. Carl was a lifelong member of the NRA and a member of the NHRA. He enjoyed prairie dog hunting and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Carl is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Howell, and her husband, Justin, of Elkton, MD; and his sons: Carl W. Vaughn, III, and his wife, Ashley, of Elkton, MD, and Gregory C. Vaughn and his wife, Erin, of Rising Sun, MD; sisters, Carlette Vaughn-Gill of Charlestown, MD, Doreen Land of Rising Sun, MD, and Teena Setting of Elkton, MD, and brothers, Dennis Vaughn of Hedgesville, WV, Kenneth Vaughn of North East, MD, Kevin Vaughn of Dobson, NC, and Jody Vaughn of Elkton, MD. Also survived by his grandchildren, James, Ryan, Davin, Logan, Kennedy, Liam, Layne, Jackson, and Oliver.

A visitation will be on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Crouch Funeral Home 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
