Emily "Deane" Truslow

1941 - 2025

Emily "Deane" Truslow, 83 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Monday, March 24, 2025 at her daughter's home in Forest Hill, MD. Born June 17, 1941 in Rising Sun, MD, she was the daughter of the late Melvin George and Ella Frances McDowell Snelling.

Deane was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD. More recently she had been attending Centre United Methodist Church of Forest Hill, MD. Deane was formerly employed as a teacher's aid at the Perryville Elementary School. She enjoyed the time she spent as a girl scout leader at the Perryville United Methodist Church. Deane spent her free time doing what she loved most and that was crocheting.

Deane is survived by her son, Kenneth "Dale" Truslow, Jr.; daughters, Dana L. Rowley (Mike) and Denise E. Salmeri (Joe); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one Angel Baby, Oliver; and sisters, Agnes C. Mason, Sylvia E. Grove, and N. Kay Snelling.

In addition to her parents, Deane was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dale Truslow, Sr.; brother, David L. Snelling; and sisters, Barbara R. Mitchell, Linda A. Snelling, and Susan M. Snelling.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the Amedisys Hospice Foundation, the Asbury Methodist Church, or Pathfinders for Autism in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2025, 11 AM, at the Asbury Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of the Asbury Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.
