Florence Marie Kyger

1956 - 2025

Florence Marie Kyger, age 69, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away peacefully, on May 27, 2025. Born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1956, in Towson, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late John Matthew Fisher and Emily Elizabeth (née Mertz) Fisher.

Florence was the devoted wife of the late Tommy Kyger, Sr., with whom she shared over 30 loving years of marriage before his passing in 2008. Together, they built a life centered around love, hard work, and family.

Throughout her life, Florence worked as a housekeeper across Cecil County, known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and the pride she took in every job she completed. Beyond her work, she found joy in the simple pleasures-nurturing her many houseplants, tending to her garden, and caring for her home.

Florence, known as "Trixie" by her family and friends, was compassionate, kind, and deeply understanding. She had a gentle presence and always offered wise and thoughtful advice to those around her. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, who brought light to her days and were the center of her world.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Kyger, Sr., and her son, Tommy Kyger, Jr., who passed away in 2012.

Florence leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughter, Christine Kyger; her grandchildren, Ethan Kyger, Chase Kyger, and Falyn Carr; and her sister, Linda Carol Busse.

Florence will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the love she so freely gave to those in her life. Her absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Florence's life will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at West Nottingham Cemetery, 1195 Firetower Road, Colora, Maryland.
