Joann Drummond, 87, passed away on February 20, 2022, after a two-year struggle with cancer. Born on March 3, 1934, on a farm near Cecilton, she was the daughter of William and Eva Cahall.

Joann graduated from Cecilton High School and in later years took classes at Essex and Cecil Community Colleges. She loved the arts, music, reading, and traveling. She visited many countries including Egypt, Jordan, Greece, and the British Isles. She especially loved traveling with and spending time with her family.

Joann is survived by her daughter, Judith, her grandson Paul (Katie) both of Warwick, MD, and by her sister Mary Edna Carty of Middletown, DE. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, her son Walt, and her son Dennis.

A celebration of Joann's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 28, at Zion United Methodist Church in Cecilton, followed by a reception in the community hall. We ask that guests be vaccinated for covid and wear a mask. Burial will be private.

Please accept our most sincere condolences for your loss. I knew your mother for quite a while when I had a
travel office and was doing tour from Chesapeake City. Your mother was a gracious Lady who always seemed to see the good in everyone; And showed her kindness to family, friends and customers at The Merry Go Round on Bohemia Avenue. It was always a pleasure to see Joanne's smiling face and gentle smile ...Especially after a hard day on a tour.

I am sorry that this is late getting to you, but we moved to near Nashville, Tennessee a year ago: However, if there is anything that we can do for you, please do not hesitate to let Ann and I know.

Ms Joann was considered a part of our family! She made numerous trips with my Mom each year to visit Tom and I over the past 25 years during our military career. We have many fond memories of our visits and she was always the life of the party! She truly was a beautiful person inside and out!
