Michelle Cain-Riggsbee Obituary

Michelle Renee Cain-Riggsbee, 35, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 in the Christiana Care Health System of Newark, DE. Born Oct. 22, 1982 in the Francis Scott Key Hospital of Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Wilfred Bernard Cain and Carol Ann Cain, of Port Deposit.
Michelle is survived by her parents, Wilfred Bernard Cain and Carol Ann Cain; husband, Johnny Riggsbee III; brother, William Bernard Cain; nephew, Daeshon William Cain; niece, Autumn Cain; mother-in-law, Cynthia Young; aunts: Phyllis Brown (Rev. Blane Brown), Brenda Griffin, Denise Cain, Gloria Cain; uncles: Bishop Claude Waldon, Franklin Griffin (Tammy), Daniel Elwood Burton (Ann), Donald Burton (Gale), Kevin Burton (Tracey), Jeremy Burton, Samuel Webster (Faye), Rodney Cain and Michael Cain (Joy).
Michelle accepted the Lord at a young age and was baptized by Rev. Steven Deveaux of the First Baptist Church of Port Deposit where she was an usher and sang in the youth choir.
Michelle graduated with honors from the Perryville High School in June 2000 and went on to attend Albright College, appeared on the dean's list, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. She also received a Masters of Education from Jones International University and a Teacher Leadership degree from the University of Phoenix. In addition, Michelle won first place in a drafting competition at the Delaware Technical Community College.
Michelle was formerly employed as a Supervisor by Boscov's of Reading, PA, a telephone operator by Verizon, and a substitute teacher for the Cecil County Public School System. Michelle traveled to Paris, France and was fluent in French and Spanish. Michelle loved Florida and very much enjoyed her trip to Disney World.
Michelle was preceded in death by her grandmothers: Ruth Ann Nocho Lee; Eleanor Ann Cain; grandfathers: Gerald Nocho, Daniel Elwood Burton Sr., Herbert I. Cain and Howard Lee.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, April 29, 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, April 29, 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral service. Rev. Steven Deveaux of the First Baptist Church of Port Deposit will officiate. Interment is scheduled for Monday, April 30, in Berkley Cemetery of Darlington, MD.
