Peggy Benjamin Obituary

Peggy Lee Benjamin, 84, of Elkton, MD passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025. Born in Hinton, WV on January 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Donald Sr. and Alma Virginia Biggs Criddle.

Mrs. Benjamin retired after being employed with the Cecil County Government. She was a member of Elkton Presbyterian Church where she had been an elder. A strong-willed woman who was loved by all who knew her, Mrs. Benjamin especially loved being with her family. She enjoyed cooking and coordinating the family reunions.

Survivors include her children, George R. Johnson Jr. (Barbra), Potomac, MD, Debra L. Walker, (Allan) Chesapeake City, MD, David A. Johnson, (Suzanne) Gainesboro, TN, and Andrea D. Fritz, (Chuck), Rehoboth Beach, DE; siblings, Donald M. Criddle Jr., Roger E. Criddle, A. Ray Criddle Sr., Sandra K. Mitchem, Jean M. Graham, (Russell), James C. Criddle, (Marla);7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren,

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Schaaf.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, September 12, 2025 at Elkton Presbyterian Church, 209 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Sharps Cemetery, Fair Hill, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elkton Presbyterian Church and sent to the above address.
