Porter Davis Obituary

Porter L. Davis Jr., 'Bob' of Cecilton, MD passed away on January 25, 2025 at home at the age of 90.

Bob was born on September 17, 1934, son of the late Porter L. and Gertrude Pippin Davis. He was a lifetime resident of the Cecilton-Earleville area. Bob owned and operated Davis Service Station in Cecilton for over 40 years. He was a life member of Cecilton V.F.C where he had served as chief. He enjoyed waterfowl hunting and fishing, but his passion was playing cards with his friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded by his sister, Grace Davis Ennis and brother-in-law Thomas Williams.

Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Edith Long Davis, sons, Allen P. Davis (Dolores) of Laurel, MD and Michael Davis (Kim) of Elkton, MD, a sister Laura Lynne Williams of Rock Hall, MD, brother in law Bruce Ennis of Smyrna, DE, 4 grandchildren, Kyle Davis, Taylor Lee (David), Morgan Marino (Mike) and Geoff Davis and 6 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29 from 10 to 11:30 am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD. A graveside service will follow at noon in St. Stephen's Cemetery, 10 Glebe Rd., Earleville, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to St. Stephen's Church, 10 Glebe Rd., Earleville, MD 21919 or Cecilton V.F.C., PO Box 565, Cecilton, MD 21913
