Robert Goldsborough Litzenberg Jr.

1938 - 2023

Robert Goldsborough Litzenberg, Jr., 84, of Elkton, MD passed away Friday, October 13, 2023. Born in Elkton on December 31, 1938, he was the son of the late Robert Goldsborough and Esther Garrett Litzenberg.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Litzenberg retired as a painting contractor, and was the owner of his own business. He was the Chairman of the Board of North Street Hotel Coffee Club World Office in Elkton, and was also a member of the American Legion Cecil Post 15 Elkton, Loyal Order of Moose Elkton Lodge 851, Cherry Hill, Elkton Lions Club, Leeds United Methodist Church and Elkton Jaycees. In his spare time he enjoyed duck/goose hunting, fishing, crabbing, dancing, and golfing at Brantwood Golf Club.

Survivors include his daughters, Alesia Litzenberg Hieronimus, Tara Denney (William), and Jennifer Stritzinger (William); grandchildren, Allaire Stritzinger (Liz Thrush), Olivia Stritzinger, Arden Stritzinger, Jillian Watson (Christopher), Melanie Hieronimus, Brendan Hieronimus, Shane Hieronimus, Madelyne Denney and Cameron Denney; sister, Ann Litzenberg Beattie (Alan), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Candace Garrett Litzenberg and son-in-law, Philip Hieronimus.

Funeral service with Military Honors will be held 11 AM, Friday, October 27, 2023 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 West Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where visitation will begin at 10 AM. Interment in Elkton Cemetery will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation and mailed to the funeral home at the above address.
