Samuel Clugston Obituary

Samuel Lee Clugston, 84, of Elkton, MD passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Born in Newville, PA on November 3, 1940, he was the son of the late Chelmor and Nancy Martin Clugston.

Samuel was a devoted postal worker for the United State Postal Service before retirement. He had also been a proud and active member of many organizations, including Union Lodge #48 AF & AM, the Order of Eastern Star #84, the Valley of Wilmington Scottish Rite, the Past Masters Club of Cecil-Harford County, and the Sons of the American Revolution. Samuel found peace and joy in the great outdoors, with farming, fishing and hunting being his greatest passions.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Jean Baker Clugston; children, Timothy Clugston Sr. (Tina), and Leslie Clugston, both of Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Samantha Zambeno (Tony), and Richard Mortimer (Kim); and sister, Marjorie Forbes (Neal), Texas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Clugston; grandson, Timothy Clugston Jr., and great-granddaughter, Tegan Clugston.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Union Lodge #48 Scholarship Fund at 100 W. High Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
