Arlin Cargill Obituary
Arlin grew up in rural Cedar County; where he attended grade school at the (West) High Point School and later graduated from Stockton High School in 1960.
Arlin grew up loving nature and exploring his surroundings on the banks and bluff overlooking Horse Creek. He had an avid passion for Indian artifacts, collecting antique bottles and our family history.
Arlin helped build the Stockton Dam and worked road construction for many years until his retirement.
Arlin married Cindy Wynes on June 5, 1970. They had no children of their own; but they loved all their nieces and nephews as if they were their own. Cindy was tragically killed in an automobile accident on June 30, 1999.
Arlin was preceded in death by his parents; Harry and Vera Cargill; four brothers, Finis, Coy, Valice and Irvin Cargill; four sisters, Winoma "Winnie" Brown, Zelia Houston, Fay Julian and Melva Wallen; nieces, Beverly Ahring, Carolyn Frazer and Peggy Bullard; and nephews, Jim Cargill, J.R. Brown, Harry Wayne Brown and Rick Julian. Also sister-in-laws, Wanda Cargill, Evelyn Cargill, Marie Cargill and Judy Wynes and brother-in-laws, Bill Houston, Harold Julian, Gerald Wallen and Pepper Wynes. And nephew-in-laws; Jerry Miller, Leon Dwerlkotte and John Hays.
Arlin is survived by two brothers, Ivan (Beulah) and Mervin (Shirley) and one sister-in-law, Jackie Cargill; all of Stockton. Arlin is also survived by nieces; Sherry (Larry), Cathy, Starla (Chuck), Joetta, Katherine (Russ), Kelly, Jan, Pam (John) and Lisa and nephews; Paul (Vickie), Kenny (Diane), Charles (Melissa), Alan, Mark, Travis (Jamie) and Shawn (Sherrie) and a niece-in-law, Judy Cargill. Also a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Arlin is also survived by his very special friend, Janice Williamson.
Services were held Sunday February at 1:00 PM at Bland-Brumback Home with burial in Stockton cemetery
