Theron Ralph King

1933 - 2025

Theron Ralph King was born July 9, 1933 in the Bear Creek Community of Cedar County, Missouri to Howard Marion and Eva Jewell Berry King. He departed for his forever pain free home April 25, 2025 at the Stockton Health Care Faciality. He began to lose enthusiasm for life in this world when he lost one leg to Peripheral Artery disease about two years ago. When it started on the other leg, he chose to keep it and go on to a pain free home.
Theron attended grade school at Bear Creek and graduated High School in Stockton in 1951. He then spent two years in service for his country during the Korean conflict. He spent two years in business college in Springfield, Missouri. He was employed at the Stockton Cheese Plant until it burned. He then worked as a janitor at the Stockton School for 20 years until his retirement in 1995. In the meantime he had bought a farm in the Jerico Springs area where he resided until his death. He loved gardening, especially tomatoes. At one time he owned five Belgian horses. Since he had been wheelchair bound, he would look out early every morning to see if the last one that was 28 years old was still alive and many times had said they were running a race. The horse has won this one, but Theron has won the greatest prize of all.
He was saved in a Baptist revival in the old Mountain Grove School house, September 7, 1946. He was a member for many years of Forest Home Missionary Baptist Church. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Stockton Missionary Baptist Church.
Theron adopted a teenager, Douglas Shawn Newman in 1988. After the recommendation of two preachers he met Hettie Noble Wright of Lowry City, Missouri in August 1996. They thought at their ages, 63 & 53, they didn't have time to waste, so they were married November 24, 1996. Together they enjoyed attending church, gardening and doing genealogy.
He is survived by his wife, Noble, of the home, son Doug Newman and wife Rhonda of Mt Vernon, Missouri three grandchildren, Kenzie, Ella & Gabriel, three nieces and their families, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Cleva and husband, Ted Sell and his brother, David King and wife Kay.
