Audrey Sharlean Dandridge

1959 - 2016

Audrey Sharlean Johnson Dandridge entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 13, 2016 at her home in Bumpass, Virginia with her family by her side.
She was born on July 20, 1959, the third child of Leslie Johnson Sr. and Shirley Coles Johnson.
Audrey was a graduate of Louisa County High School.
At an early age, she joined the New Anna Baptist Church where she served on the usher board and was a member of the Heavenly Echoes.
In 2005, she joined in holy matrimony to William Dandridge Sr. After her marriage, she would attend Mt. Hope Baptist Church with her husband.
Audrey's faith was evident throughout her illness. Through all of her pain and suffering she didn't complain. She would always say, "I'm alright." She meant that though she was in pain, God had her. What a legacy she leaves behind, her strength and faith in God.
Audrey never met a stranger. She was always smiling and joking with everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Sr.
Audrey leaves to cherish his memory, her loving and devoted husband, William Dandridge Sr.; one devoted daughter, Jennifer Johnson; one devoted son, Donté Dandridge; her mother, Shirley Johnson; three sisters, Ethel Powell (Harry), Edith Taylor and Lesley Horton (Marv); one brother, Leslie Johnson Jr., seven aunts, Marian Harris (George), Joyce Holt, Arlean Anderson (Warren), Venus Whitfield, Nannie Bates, Sadie Johnson and Florence Trice; one stepson, William Dandridge Jr.; one stepdaughter, Sabrina Dandridge; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; one devoted sister-in-law, Gladys Dandridge; two devoted friends, Rev. Walter Barrett and wife, Alicia; one nephew close to her heart, Camren Horton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m. in The Sun Chapel at D.D. Watson Mortician, Inc., Louisa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Bumpass Virginia with the Rev. Dr. Monroe Smith officiating. Interment will be in the New Anna Baptist Church cemetery.
