James Wright Obituary

James Richard Wright, age 71, of Lake Anna, Virginia, passed away July 5, 2017, at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville, Virginia.
Born May 9, 1946, in Brentwood, Maryland, he was the son of the late William Bradford and Virginia Elizabeth (Humphries) Wright.
A successful construction contractor, serving both the Lake Anna and DC areas, Jim was a resident of Lake Anna for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Wright of Lake Anna; siblings, William B. Wright Jr. (Peggy) of Clearwater, Florida, Edward N. Wright (Beverly) of Chapitco, Maryland, Christine A. Walcker (Del) of Ellicott City, Maryland, Vicki L. Anthony (Kent) of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, Karen E. DeSantis of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Pam F. Conway of Gainesville, Florida. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Sophia Hamilton of New Market, Maryland; stepdaughter, Marie Hamilton of New Market, Maryland; stepson, Dean Hamilton of Braddock Heights, Maryland; plus numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jim was a true outdoors man - an accomplished snow skier, water skier and avid scuba diver, living for a short time in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
A memorial service, officiated by the deceased's niece, the Rev. Jennifer Mattson, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 9120 Frederick Rd., Ellicott City, Maryland.
