Kenneth Harry Smith

1934 - 2017

Kenneth Harry Smith, 82, of Louisa, died Saturday, April 29, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 25, 1934 in Mineral, he was the son of the late Elease Talley Smith and Clifton Phillip Smith. Mr. Smith was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Wolfrey Smith; and a brother, James Nelson Smith.
He grew up on the farm helping his family and later retired as a maintenance director for the Town of Louisa and Epworth Manor. He was a lifelong member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church. Kenneth loved his Lord and enjoyed worshiping with his family and friends weekly. He loved gospel church music; his favorite hymn was "How Great Thou Art." He loved the outdoors and keeping his lawn looking beautiful year round. He was a man that had great work ethic and he loved helping others.
He leaves behind one brother, W. Phillip Smith; three sisters, Marian Woolfrey, Ruth Smith, Bernice Carson; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday May 2, 2017 at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville with the Rev. David Palmer and Chaplin David Flack officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
