He is preceded in death by his father, William G. Boseman, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Weldon Daniel Boseman, and Mary Louise Ellis Boseman; maternal grandparents, James McClung Hartless, Sr., and Lillian Barber (Hartless) Edwards. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Hartless Boseman Lewis; The Pride and Joy of his life, his son, Brett Shannon James Boseman, II; siblings, William Gene Boseman, Jr., Bradford Weldon Boseman (Lisa), Deborah Boseman Battle (Bill), Kimberly Boseman Kotz (Jay), Michael Boseman, J. Brett enjoyed working for L'Italia Restaurant (where he felt like family), The Place, Ukrops, and Martins. He loved cooking (he made a delicious Peach Cobbler), stargazing, lager lights, sunsets, gardening (growing vegetables anywhere he could), learning, fishing (He so wanted to go fishing with Brad, Jr.), watching movies, listening to music, watching "his pastor" Donald Holiday (online), and spending time with family and friends; he wrote an incredible poem that he never put on paper.
Brett's genius level mind added an interesting twist to his conversations! There could be no other person quite like him...Somehow, he could be helping someone with something they desired, without them even realizing what he was doing!
Forever in our hearts...
A "Celebration of Life" will be held at First Free Will Baptist, 8985 Hungary Road, Henrico, Va., on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1 pm to 3 pm. Pastor, Scott Watts, will be officiating the celebration.
