R.I.P. Andy, Dave Schaub located a tape that you guys made in the 70's. I now have it and when I listened to it, the tape took me back to a happy time in my life. Until we meet again, I will always listen to the tape on 2/13.

Remember you and I would drove up from Huntingdon, PA to party with Tahoka Freeway and you and AJ hit it off so well. We had so much fun with those guys. Anyone who ever met Andy could quickly tell he was a genuinely decent & gentle human being. I had the honor & pleasure of knowing & working with Andy on the road for many years; long workdays & long bus rides, verbal jousting over music & gear, sports, politics, ribald humor & the various blessings/curses of single barrel vs blended whiskeys! The least of Andy's talents was his exceptional professionalism on the job & his superior knowledge & firsthand experience with live audio & equipment. If you had Andy on your crew, the audio portion of your show was in excellent hands. The far greater of Andy's talents was his humanity; his good-natured ability to roll with the everyday punches, to offer help without being asked, & his natural predilection to smile & laugh while offering his typically wry slice-of-life comments! You couldn't rattle Andy or (short of disparaging "Old No.7") make him angry. Our very young (at the time) son Robert inadvertently & abruptly woke Andy up from a well-deserved & all-too-rare bus nap one workday afternoon. Not knowing anyone was on the bus at the time, Robert giggled & laughed while running up & down the interior length of the bus. Andy gently opened his bunk curtain, sleepily looked out at all the boyish commotion and calmly observed, "Well...I guess it IS time for soundcheck after all!" Young Robert was stunned & surprised into immediate silence while my wife Christin & I stumbled over each other with profuse apologies. Andy just smiled and laughed as he exited his bunk, "Hey, I was a noisy kid once, too, you know! And my wife Marianne knows I can still act like one!" Blessings and thanks to Marianne and all the family for sharing Andy with all of us!

Andy was the best friend to me for many, many years. He was best man in my wedding and my son's godfather. His love for the love of his life, Marianne, and his family in Baltimore was endless. Andy loved his work and had his perfect career. He will always be in my heart and wonderful memories. Until we meet again, AJ...
