January 21, 1947 - April 28, 2023
Bellefonte, Pennsylvania - Andrew Frank Swarm, 76, of Bellefonte, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 28, 2023, at UPMC Altoona.
Born on January 21, 1947, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Franklin E. and Kathryn (Swires) Swarm. He married Mabel P. Rhoades on December 3, 1966.
Andrew loved his community. He was a key member in the Milesburg Lions Club. He ran the Lions Club Bingo at the Milesburg Community Center. He was known for planting a wonderful garden and most of the produce that he grew was given away to family and friends, especially his garlic. Andrew found joy in spending time with family and friends, particularly his daily coffee time with his friends at Dan Fisher's house.
Andrew proudly served his country in the United States Army, enlisting on March 21, 1967, and obtaining the rank of SSG before his retirement and honorable discharge from the Reserves on January 21, 2007.
Along with his loving wife Mabel, he is survived by his daughters Michelle Bailey (Larry), Cindy Casher (Pat) and Tammy Zeigler (Sam); brother, Stephen E. Swarm; 8 grandchildren, Pattie-Jo Horner, Stacey Walker, Christi Schall, Nicholas McCloskey, Nicole Stevens, Lacey Swarm, Sabrina Casher and Adonis Ward; as well as 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joe Swarm and his loving K-9 companion Cuddles.
A celebration of life to remember Andrew will be held from 11AM-2PM on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Milesburg Community Center.
Inurnment will take place at Schencks Cemetery in Howard at a later date.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Singer Kader Neff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Swarm Family...
What an amazing man Andy was. I´ve known Andy and his family since I (Cheryl) moved here 50 years ago. When I look back on his life as a child and what he became as an adult it´s unbelievable. He was all about helping people and serving our country.
Jeff and I have a home built on the property where he was raised and we´re honored to have kept in touch with him all these years. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone in need.
You´re all in our continued thoughts and prayers. If there´s anything we can do for you please don´t hesitate to ask us.
