Jessica M. Geist February 17, 1910 - January 28, 2005 Mrs. Jessica M. Geist, 94, of Bald Eagle, Box 166, RD 3, Tyrone, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. She was born Feb. 17, 1910, in Half Moon Valley, Centre County, a daughter of Ryland and Lyda (Hicks) Mattern. She was married Oct. 28, 1937, in Williamsport, to Chester E. Geist. She is survived by her husband of 68 years and two daughters: Linda and her husband Ed Schenck of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Betty A. and her husband Dr. John Jabbs of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren: Jim & (Julie) Schenck of Franklin, Tenn., Jennifer Schenck of Franklin, Tenn., Jessica & (Andrew) Luttrull of Hendersonville, Tenn., Stephanie & (Dr. Charles) Maurer of Fredericksburg, Va., Kimberly & (James) Terrill of Ovieda, Fla., and Dr. Kristin Jabbs of Philadelphia; eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Louise Faust & Waneta Henderson of Tyrone and Sylvia Thompson of Warriors Mark. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Gensimore, and brothers W. Ryland and James Mattern. She was a graduate of Port Matilda High School, a member of the Spring Mount Church of the Brethren, and a great homemaker. She was a member of the Bald Eagle Grange #1390 since 1950 and served as its secretary for 32 years. For over 50 years, Jessica and her husband have been active members of the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Allegheny Mountain Region Auto Club. She always enjoyed her club member friends, car shows, parades, and her pet Boston terriers. She was involved in arrangements for antique cars in the 1957 Tyrone Centennial parades. She was co-owner of the Geist Museum Collection in Bald Eagle, and she loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her animals and flowers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Todd Templeton officiating. Interment will follow at Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Contributions in her memory may be given to the Central Pa. Humane Society, 1837 E.
