Kenneth M. (Ken) Fye May 15, 1935 January 27, 2018 Kenneth M. "Ken" Fye, 82, formerly of Mosh- annon, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the UPMC Shady Side in Pittsburgh. Born on May 15, 1935, in Moshannon, he was the son of the late Bessie G. Fye. He married Susan Estright in 1981, in Moshannon. Ken attended the Snow Shoe High School. He was a member of the Moshannon United Methodist Church. He was a member of the National Guard from 19561959. Ken was the District Manager of the Altoona Mirror, retiring in 1981, after 20 years of service. Not being able to sit still, he went to work at Livergood's Garage in Moshannon. He worked there for four years and then went to work at Riverhill Coal Tipple. He worked there until the age of 79. Ken started his day, every day, by drinking a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing Yahtzee, 500 Rummy, gardening, traveling, watching the news on TV, camping and being in the outdoors. He liked to take the grandchildren to Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte to feed the ducks. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. In his younger years, he was a Boy Scout Leader and a Sunday School Teacher. Ken is survived by his wife, Susan, of Hastings; three sons, William Selfridge, of Beccaria, Paul Fye, of Patton, and Kenneth Fye, II, of Patton; five daughters, Marla Cain, of Union City, Idaho, Heather Kensinger and her husband, Lee, of Hastings, Brenda Moore and her husband, Marshall, Jr., of Cherry Tree, Nicole Fye, of Elmira, N.Y., and Stephanie Fye, of York. Also surviving Ken are his two brothers, Robert Livergood and his wife, Peggy, and Larry Livergood and his wife, Mary Jo, both of Moshannon; 13 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Along with his mother, Ken was preceded in death by a son, Gary Fye. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, from 10-12 noon at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will be at Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Township.
