Ray C. "Chip" Aumiller, IV
January 9, 1964 - October 31, 2022
McVeytown, Pennsylvania - Ray C. "Chip" Aumiller, IV, 58, of McVeytown, passed away unexpectedly, on Monday October 31, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born January 9, 1964 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Ray C. Aumiller, III, and Nancy M. (Miller) Aumiller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Julia Aumiller.
Chip is survived by his children, Timothy A. Aumiller and wife Kati, of Granville, and Phillip A. Aumiller, of Lewistown, as well as numerous others who he considered children that were near and dear to his heart; grandchildren, Blake Aumiller, Bryson Aumiller, and Evelyn Price; siblings, Julia Hettrick and husband Rick, of Costa Rica, Rebecca Mancino and husband Bob, of Blue Bell, PA, Dan Aumiller, of Reedsville, and Carla Aumiller, of Lewistown; and his niece and nephews, Caroline B. Zook, of Blue Bell, PA, and William H. Zook, of Springfield, PA, and Chris Raia, of Houston, TX.
Everyone has a "Chip Story." When Chip entered the room – Chip owned the room.
While organizing wrestling clinics or having breakfast at the Kountry Kitchen, he "mixed and mingled" with every person in the room. Chip pulled you in, made you laugh and secured his handprint on your heart.
His love of marching bands and youth sports was only matched by his affections for his devoted "Kish Class of 1982" and his dedication to the local 4H. Chip offered his impressive onsite "mat room" and weight lifting equipment to athletes, lifters and wrestlers across the state. His greatest pride was helping his grandson achieve his wrestling goals.
Chip was obsessed with drums and what started with a single snare in his childhood living room grew to several "full-sized trap sets" in his adult living room. He organized many local bands and delighted in his numerous gigs (many of which were fund raisers for worthy causes). Always eager to host events for his friends, family and customers, Chip's Annual Pig Roast was a testament to his business commitment. His rowdy comedy routines and MC skills were highly anticipated!
When not working a 16-hour day trimming hooves, Chip was a DJ aficionado who honed his skills at many weddings and gatherings. His quick wit and engaging personality were always a huge hit.
Were there too many horses in his barn? Of course! Were there too many cats at his farm? Of course! Chip could not resist an animal in need and had a deep respect for all of God's creatures.
Chip will be missed beyond words. Our heavy hearts are comforted by knowing he is with his beloved parents. Surely, they are sharing bad jokes and keeping a watchful eye on all of us.
Again, everyone has a Chip Story – hold it tight to your heart.
