Ray Bressler Obituary

Ray E. Bressler June 6, 1931 - Sunday, March 9, 2008 Ray E. Bressler, Jr., 76, of 1096 Vira Road, Lewistown, died at 4:50 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born June 6, 1931, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Ray E. Bressler, Sr. and Lula Strickler Bressler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Thoman Bressler on September 23, 2005. He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia DiSylvester and her husband Alfred, of Harrisburg and a son Edward K. Bressler and his wife Cheryl, of Lewistown; sisters, Carolyn Marinos, and Martha Bowen, of Lewistown, and Rayelene Saxton, of Shamokin Dam; grandchildren, Ryan DiSylvester, Craig Bressler and Michelle Bressler and a great-granddaughter, Mia DiSylvester. Mr. Bressler was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Hunter. He owned and operated C. Edgar Thoman Auto Electric in Lewistown. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewistown, F&AM Lodge #203, Lewistown Elks Lodge #663, Lewistown Moose Lodge #143, Lewistown Commandry #26, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Juniata Valley Forest #88, Juniata Valley Council #64 and Royal & Selected Master Masons. He was a member of the Lewistown Water Authority for 21 years and was chairman for 14 years. He loved spending time at camp. Calling hours are from 7-9 p.m., on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main Street, Lewistown, Funeral service will take place 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2008 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Roth officiating. Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 120 N. Main St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
