I was very sad to hear that Steve passed away. I worked with Steve at The Attic Club in Chicago for 6 years. He was the coolest Chef I knew and I enjoyed working with him. Steve had a great sense of humor, was very friendly and he had good stories. He also taught me a lot about cooking (which I was not good at).
You will definitely be remembered and missed.

Steve was part of one of our first kitchen crews when we opened the Victorian Manor restaurant in Lemont. I can still see him ...just a happy, fun, TALENTED friend. After he left the State College area, he would often appear at the kitchen door when he was in town and visit with us. ALways a pleasant surprise! I'd often try to talk him into returning to SC and come back to work for us. Steve is one of those handful of people we will always remember with a big SMILE on our face! Godspeed Steve.

Every now and then as I was working in DC an employee would say, there is a gentleman on the phone who insists we deliver pizzas to Chicago, what should I tell him. Hay Hay Hay. I'll miss those calls

Steve always had a great outlook on things, and a friendly grin for ya. Lots of good fun times back then.... You'll be missed and remembered well, buddy.

I met Steve through the Rolling Thunder softball team crowd (1979 to 1984). I was one of the younger guys on the team at the time. He a great person to have around. He was always funny and put everyone in a great mood. As I read all the guest book entries, you will be missed by everyone including myself.

Steve was a very kind, friendly guy, always smiling and happy to see you. We spent many a fun filled evening listening to Tahoka Freeway and enjoying the State College night life. You will definitely be remembered fondly friend.

The last time Mary and I saw Steve was a blustery February when we were visiting from Virginia to show off our first born. We stopped by the Jackman’s house and Andy Jackman said that Steve was visiting from Chicago. We went next door and Steve was cooking (of course). He had been put in charge of helping watch some neighbor's kid down the street and she had been stealing her dad’s VW at night and driving around. We went over there and took the rotor out of the distributor. It only took two glasses of wine for us to be that bold.
See you at the next level, Steve.

Steve was indeed like a brother to all. The last time I saw Steve he had to escort me in a brotherly fashion out of a bar full of rival football fans I had somehow gotten into a lynch mob mentality against Steves quiet and polite admonishments for me to shut up.
Kathy, Renee, Paula, and Richard, please know it feels like we all lost a family memeber, and I'll likely still need an escort in the bars of Heaven.

Steve was one of the nicest, friendliest, funniest people one could know, and the boy could cook! My memory of him will always be at a Rolling Thunder softball game in High Point Park, Steve in right field and Matt Bahr hits a deep, towering fly ball down the line. Steve sticks his glove up in the air, starts "running" like Fred Flintstone for what seems like minutes and just as he nears the foul line, the ball lands right in his glove. The fans went wild. "i had it all the way" he said.
Steve, we will miss you.
