Deborah E. Johnson

Deborah Johnson departed this life on October 13, 2025, at the age of 63, at Fairhaven Senior Living in Decatur, IL. Born on December 19, 1961, in Decatur, IL, Deborah was the cherished daughter of Solomon Briggs and Patricia Johnson. Deborah was a proud graduate of Sam Houston High in San Antonio, TX. She dedicated her professional life to her role as a general laborer at Macon Resource, where she was known for her strong work ethic and kindness toward her colleagues. Outside of work, Deborah found joy in playing card games and spending time on her phone, but her greatest passion was her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, relishing every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Deborah was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, leaving a lasting impact on many lives. She is survived by her children, Jason Johnson, Bianca (Demetrius) Johnson Newbern, Bryan Johnson, Jeffrey Butler, De'Bora Johnson, and Maurice Johnson. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings, Edna Horges, Henrietta Johnson, and James Johnson, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Ny'Asia Johnson, Leah Johnson, O'Shea Lewis, Emmanuel Lewis, A'Mireon Johnson, and Nyreese Johnson. Additionally, Deborah is remembered by a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, Solomon Briggs and Patricia Johnson, and her siblings, Patricia Johnson, Fayetta Johnson, Delia Johnson, Diane Johnson, Michael Johnson, Harvey Johnson, and Charlie Johnson. Deborah Johnson will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
