James E. Fullenwider Sr

James Edward Fullenwider, Sr departed this life quietly, surrounded by his family members at Decatur Memorial Hospital on February 20, 2025. James was born to the late James Junior and Betty Frierson Fullenwider in Cape Girardeau, MO on December 30, 1949. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age at Second Baptist Church, Cape Girardeau, MO. Prior to moving to Decatur, James worked construction, building homes in Cape Girardeau, MO. Upon relocating to Decatur, he went to work at PPG in Mt Zion, IL, until he started his career at Caterpillar. James completed Caterpillar's four-year machine shop apprentice program, which afforded him the opportunity to join the maintenance department, where he went on to become the number one maintenance technician. He retired last year after forty-six years of being a dedicated employee. James enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, playing cards, (when he won), watching sports, especially, the Kansas City Chiefs, reading and watching old television shows, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. James was compassionate, loving, caring and the most awesome father and grandfather one could want. He was loved and will be missed by many.
