There is a rustic brown cabin across the lake from me where I live. Every Thursday without fail the cabin would come alive with activity and evening lights. However, several years ago the lights went dim, and I observed no activity at the cabin for a whole season and then a second season. My wife and I had met Al and Geogia only once, and we did not know them well, but we did know their weekend routine during nice weather. They were like clockwork with their commings and goings from Lake Norman.

As more time passed, we assumed the worst, and after investigating, we learned of Georgia's passing. Based on the information in her obituary, I could understand how Al found it difficult to return to the cabin. I'm sure that the cabin was filled with such good memories that it was hard to be their without her.

I did hope that Al would resume his visits at some point, but was never aware of his return if he did. I learned just today that Al passed away as well. I suspect he is where he really wants to be again.

Our condolences to all the family

We were pleased to see the place come alive Memorial Day Weekend. WELCOME BACK

I was shocked to learn of Al's death, particularly so closely following that of Georgia. They needed to be together, I guess. I worked for Al on and off for the better part of 15 years. In all that time we never had a cross word. He was the best field manager Gardner Denver ever had and I feel privileged to have worked with him.
My most heartfelt condolences to the girls and their families. We've all lost a good man.

Dear Four "D" Girls: Your Mom and Dad were special people. Your faith in God and your love for your parents will sustain you through your grief. Sue and I and our granddaughter Bridgett loved our visit to the home and to the beloved lake home. They were gracious hosts. They will be missed but the memories will carry on.

I had the good fortune of working with Al during my years at Gardner-Denver. He was a wonderful manager and an extraordinary gentleman. My most vivid memory is how he would light up when he talked about his daughters. How he adored you! Please know that so many of us share your loss.

Al was a dynamic person who was always fun to work with. When I first joined GD in 1973, Al contacted me and offered any help he could as I began my new career. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing.
