Andrew Allen Obituary

Andrew Allen, Sr., age 95, passed away on October 21, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Salisbury, NC. Andrew served in the United States Army during World War II (Pacific theater), graduated with a bachelor's degree in science and a master's degree in Divinity from the seminary at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. Andrew completed a second master's degree in education at the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT and served as a director of public housing and the director of the Concentrated Employment Program. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and actively served more than 75 years in the fraternity. Andrew was an active member of the Bridgeteers Bridge Club. He was also a member of First United Presbyterian Church. A public viewing will be at Boston's Mortuary on Wednesday October 24th from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018. The visitation will begin at 12:30 PM and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, at First United Presbyterian Church (USA). Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Andrew's name to First United Presbyterian Church (USA).

I was Pete's neighbor for years in Charlotte and moved to California in 2010. I was just calling to check on him as I usually do every few months and realized he has passed. Rest in peace my dear neighbor. God is rejoicing to receive His loved one home.
