I met Andy while working at Duke/Fluor Daniel. His company was one of our Suppliers. Through the many phone calls of getting documents approved we became fast friends. He was funny and quick witted. He would tell me about his family back in England and his time in the Antarctic (which was amazing story). He would share stories from his trips to the Shelby Hamfest, and update me regularly on his Hovercraft in his garage. As the years passed he would meet My boyfriend (who eventually became My Husband). Andy attended our wedding and became my husband´s friend as well. Unfortunately we hadn´t kept in touch these last few years and I am sad about that. He was so proud when he became a citizen of these United States. He was a good man.

I met Andy in 1985 through the Mecklenburg Amateur Radio Society. Over the following years we shared a number of adventures and projects, and he became one of my few true friends. His passing was a huge shock to me, and I'm sure many others. I loved him and will miss him for the rest of my days.
