Archie E. Teal

CHERAW -- Mr. Archie E. Teal, 82, died Thursday, October 3, 2002.
Funeral service is 3 PM Sunday, October 6, at Westside Baptist Church, with Reverend Jerry Brunson, Reverend Doug Reava and Dr. Bill Traywick officiating. Interment will be in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM tonight at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC.
Mr. Teal was born in Chesterfield County, a son of the late Pete and Annie Elizabeth McLaurin Teal. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor with the Town of Cheraw and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific. Mr. Teal was a 32nd degree mason and a member of Cheraw Masonic Lodge #15 for 50 years. He was a faithful member and former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher of Westside Baptist Church. Mr. Teal was a true Servant of God and a people person, and was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary White Teal of the home; one son, Archie Wayne Teal and wife, Paula, of Cheraw, SC; four daughters, Barbara T. Brunson and husband, Rev. Jerry Brunson of Saluda, SC, Helen T. Harsey and Carolyn T. Mickleberry and husband, Brian, of Cheraw, SC and Jayne T. Scherer of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Louise T. Allen of Elizabethtown, NC; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
