October 3, 1938 - October 8, 2025
Charlotte, North Carolina - Barbara G. Mauney, 87, of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, and was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior.
Born in Morganton, NC, Barbara graduated from Drexel High School, Mars Hill College, and the Presbyterian School of Medical Technology. She worked for many years as a lab technician in Burke and Caldwell Counties.
A faithful member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church, Barbara lived a life of service and song. She volunteered with Presbyterian Hospice and sang for nearly three decades with the Queen Charlotte Sweet Adelines. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and love for her family, faith, and community.
She is survived by her son, Steve Mauney; granddaughters, Katie Anderson (Daniel) and Emily Mauney (Max Reinbachs); and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kaylynn Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Mauney; infant daughter, Amy; and parents, Paul and Novella Goodnight.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Durham Memorial Baptist Church, Charlotte, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Cemetery, Morganton. Attendees are encouraged to wear pastel colors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring – Robin Johnson House, Dallas, NC.
