Betty W. Thornhill

1935 - 2019

Mrs. Thornhill, age 83, died January 26th. A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday February 2 at Assurance United Methodist Church with Minister Chris Westmoreland officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm, the service will be at 1:00pm and the interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Mrs. Thornhill was born in Morganton, NC on August 2, 1935, daughter of the late Charles Wesley Williams and Myre Prince Williams. She was a member of Assurance United Methodist Church. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Mercy School of Nursing and continue her career there for 40 years. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister grandmother and aunt. She was wonderful friend to many and caretaker to all. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jim Thornhill; sisters Marceil Hoyle and Ginger Evans. Surviving are: son Mike Thornhill; daughters Debi Williams and husband Steve, Karla Thornhill and Beth Thornhill; grandsons Trevor Williams and wife Kaitlin and Dylan Williams and Granddaughter Amanda Swan ; Brother Barry Williams and wife Donna; sisters Claire Skinner her husband Tom and Jane Cobb her husband Hollis; numerous nieces and nephews.
