Carl Wesley Judy
Rev. Dr. Judy, died Thursday morning, January 3rd. Born in Charleston, West Virginia on April 10, 1918, Carl was the child of the late Walter M. and Daisy Bransford Judy.
Carl was a United Methodist Missionary in Korea for 38 1/2 years. Carl spent many years working with a Leper Colony in Wonju, Korea, supervised the construction of Wonju Christian Hospital and was involved in helping Korean pastors establish new churches.
He also served the Franklin Circuit, Rockwood and Duncan Memorial United Methodist Churches. He retired in 1984 and worked with Hospice of Asheboro for a number of years. He was actively involved in the Lion's Club in Asheboro in his retirement. Carl and his wife, Margaret, have been residents at Arbor Acres since 1999.
For the past several years Carl has been in declining health.
Carl is survived by his wife, Margaret B. Judy, with whom he has been married for 63 years, one son: K. Wesley Judy and his wife, Paula, of Forest City, three daughters: Carlene Judy of Winston-Salem, Joy Joss and her husband, Kirby, and Esther Underwood and her husband, Bill; six grandchildren and one great-grandson and a step great-grandson and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Dove Meeks, Merle Wheatley, and Della Akers and one brother, Fred Judy.
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Carl Judy will be held Friday, January 11th at 2:00 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall at Arbor Acres, Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Resident 1/8s Fund at Arbor Acres, 1240 Arbor Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.

Dear Margaret, We have read about Carl in the newspaper. So very thankful that we knew you in Korea when we were there in 1962.
You were always so kind and we appreciated that. Even though we left Korea after one year, we treasure the memories and the people we met there.
