Charles Cox Obituary

Charles William Cox Jr. "Charlie" CHARLOTTE - Charles William Cox Jr. "Charlie", of Charlotte, passed away peacefully Friday evening, March 9th 2018. Charlie was born in Salisbury, NC on August 29, 1935, to Charles William Cox Sr. and Florence Wheeler Cox, both deceased. He was a graduate of Central High School in Charlotte, and attended both Duke University and the University of South Carolina. He was an Honorably discharged 8-year veteran of the Marine Corps Reserve and he spent many years working as a manufacturer's representative for children's apparel lines, with a showroom at the old Charlotte Merchandise Mart. He is survived by his ex-wife Dava Cox; three children, Susan Cox-Smith, Catherine Cox-Carter, and John Cox; his brother George Cox and wife Suzanne; nephews Charles Cox and Christopher Cox; and grandchildren Rowan and Sabine Smith. Graveside service will be at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, Friday, March 16th, at 1:00pm, near the Last Supper Garden. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the American Heart Association.
