Christina Bishop Obituary
MONROE -- Our sweet Christina, born June 23, 1977 in Monroe to Robert and Ruth Bishop, passed away on May 17, 2010 after a second courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral and burial is scheduled for Thursday, May 20th, 2010 at 3:00 at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church.
A memorial service to celebrate Christina's life will be held at Myers Park Baptist at 1900 Queens Road, Charlotte, on Sunday, May 23rd at 4:00 pm, officiated by Dr. Steven Shoemaker, Rev. Eddie Powers, and Rev. James Couick.
Christina had an angel's spirit and a warrior's determination. She triumphed over brain cancer in her preteen years, and fought back to graduate from Myers Park High and then CPCC.
She loved to travel, particularly to England to visit family.
Christina is survived by her grandmother, Tommie Hill of Monroe, two brothers, Jason and Steven of the UK, one sister, Joanne of the UK, her mother, Ruth E. Bishop of Mint Hill, her father, Robert 'Bob' Bishop of Charlotte, and Ileana Bishop of Charlotte.
The family would like to thank Hospice for their exceptional care, and everyone from the churches that supported Christina through her illness. Our special thanks to Christina's friend Kathy, for being her lifelong friend, confidant and second sister. Christina's light will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. God bless our little angel - we will love you always.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 19th, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
Memorials can be made in Christina's name to: the Men's Shelter of Charlotte - Lakewood CDC, where she volunteered, or your local Hospice.

What a dear heart Christina had and shared with everyone who crossed her path. I knew Christina at Myers Park High School and she always remembered my daughter Lindsey, her same age, asking about her every time I saw her at the Morrowcroft Harris Teeter. A precious child she was and precious angel with the Lord she is!

Christina and I went to Sharon Elementary together and I remember her battle with cancer then. She was such a sweet and generous person. I will always remember her!

I had the pleasure of knowing Christina when she lived at Charlotte Woods. She was always so pleasant when she came into the office. I was so saddened to hear about her passing, but Heaven defintiely got another angel in Christina. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I knew Christina for many years through Camp Care. She always made me laugh and smile and I know she is making everyone smile in Heaven. My heartfelt condolences to all her family.

Christina was a delight to know and a pleasure to interact with when I shopped at Harris-Teeter. She had the heart of an angel and that is the job God now has in store for her.

I worked with Christina at Harris Teeter. I know everyone will miss her. I will miss her cute little giggle she had. She loved working with us and had so much interest in the customers and loved the children that would come through her line. She truly is one of god's angels. I feel blessed to have known her.
