Clarence Pharr McNeely, Jr.
'Bo'
MOORESVILLE -- Mr. McNeely, 86, of South Academy St., Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2005, at Genesis Eldercare, Mooresville. Born December 7, 1918, in Mooresville, he was a son of the late Clarence Pharr McNeely, Sr. and Lucy Thurston McNeely. Mr. McNeely was owner/operator, with his two brothers, Asa and Thurston, of Colonial Frozen Foods, of Kannapolis, NC, for over 50 years. He was a WWII veteran having served in the US Army Air Corp. He was a life long member of First Presbyterian Church, Mooresville, where he served as Deacon and Elder. He was one of God's faithful servants quietly doing small things that needed to be done. He was a humble and gentle man who was devoted to his brothers and sisters as well as his wife, children and grandchildren. Mr. McNeely was preceded in death by brother, Thurston McNeely and sister, Jane Wheeler. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Thompson McNeely, whom he married, April 5, 1947; son, Pharr McNeely and wife, Laura, of Concord; daughters, Margaret Curtis and husband, Brent, of Mooresville, and Helen Cawood and husband, Nick, of Woodstock, GA; brother, Asa McNeely and wife, Miriam, of Salisbury; sister, Lucy Crouse, of High Point; grandchildren, Sean and Brian McNeely, Neely and Will Curtis, and Madison, Drew, Matt and Michael Cawood; beloved in-laws, Dr. W. T. and June Medlin, Sarah McNamee and Richard and Nancy Thompson; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM, Saturday, October 22, 2005, at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville, followed by a memorial service at 10 AM at First Presbyterian Church, Mooresville, with Dr. Russell E. Mase and Dr. Fred A. Coates officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 PM, Friday, October 21, 2005, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. Memorials may be made to the Mwandi Hospital Endowment Fund, c/o First Presbyterian Church, 249 W. McLelland Ave., Mooresville, NC 28115. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the family of Mr. McNeely.
