Connie Cornwell Obituary

Connie Leonhardt Cornwell
LINCOLNTON -- Mrs. Cornwell of Lincoln Nursing Center, formerly of Riverview Road, Lincolnton, died November 30, 2005, at the Lincoln Nursing Center. She was a homemaker.
Her family received friends December 1, 2005, at Warlick Funeral Home, Lincolnton, NC, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
Her funeral will be held at 3:00 PM December 2, 2005, at Riverview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Nathan May and the Rev. Jamie Woodyard officiating, with interment following the service in Riverview Cemetery.
Mrs. Cornwell, born December 13, 1908, was a native of Lincoln County. She was the daughter of the late Beverly Leonhardt and Ada Propst Leonhardt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter Cornwell; sons, Alvin Hunter 'H.C.' Jr., and Hugh Samuel Cornwell; one daughter, Blonnie Sue Whitley; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers; and six sisters.
Mrs. Cornwell is survived by one son, Carroll Cornwell of Belmont; five daughters, Joyce Rudisill of Newton, Nelva Goodson of Lincolnton, Mary Ellen Richard of Maiden, Mabel Lowery of Lincolnton, and Muriel Nantz of Iron Station; 22 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorials may be made to Riverview Baptist Church, 2230 Riverview Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 North Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
Warlick Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Cornwell.
