Daniel Lucas Obituary

Daniel James Lucas
Mr. Lucas, formerly of Charlotte, died April 16, 2008 in Berkeley, California. He was 27 years old. He was a graduate of UNC-Asheville and was a doctoral candidate in physical chemistry at the University of California in Berkeley. He was born and reared in Charlotte, NC.
A memorial service will be held in Asheville, NC.
Survivors include his parents, Peter and Dayna Lucas of Chapel Hill, NC; his brother, Gregory of Asheville, NC; and his grandmother, Gloria Baerncopf of Palo Alto, CA.
Memorial donations may be made to The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, Attn: Dan Lucas Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1888, Asheville, NC 28802. The fund's purpose is primarily to benefit music programs and environmental causes in Western North Carolina.

We are so sorry to learn of your loss. What a tragedy for you all. I remember Daniel with great fondess from our days together at Irwin Ave. Open School. You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this very sad time.
