Lowell, North Carolina - Darlene Wimmer, of Lowell NC, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Darlene was born April 30, 1946 in Peoria, IL to the late Frank and Helen Conrad. She married Ron Wimmer on October 24, 1962. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper and was also a small business owner. She was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Gastonia.
Darlene is survived by her brother, Kevin (Heidi) Conrad; her son Mark (Karen) Wimmer; her daughter Amy Portis; four grandchildren, Christopher (Sara) Portis, Katie (Luis) Trinidad, and Ryan and Ben Wimmer; and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Wyatt Portis.
Funeral service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Dr, Gastonia.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Humane Society of Charlotte.
