Mr. Devdas Jaiswal of Delhi, India passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2016, at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, Charlotte, North Carolina-from natural causes at the age of 79.

Devdas was born on December 13th, 1936 in Lahore, India to Mr.& Mrs. Ram Lal and Premvati Jaiswal.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Laj Jaiswal in 2009 and his youngest child and beloved son Vikas Jaiswal in 2007.

He is survived by his daughter Parveen Khanna (Sanjeev Khanna), his son Devinder Jaiswal (Punam Jaiswal), his daughter Minoo Bansal (Deepak Bansal) and his grandchildren: Rajan Khanna, Vikram Bansal, Sahil Jaiswal, Rohan Bansal, Sonia Bansal and Sia Jaiswal.

He was a Mechanical Engineer by Profession and was educated in India and England. His work took him to many parts of the World but majority of his working years were spent in India and part of it in East Africa working as a Mechanical Engineer for many years on the World Bank funded projects before finally settling in the United States of America.

Mr. Devdas Jaiswal was an accomplished Pilot and served briefly as a Captain in the Indian Air Force before being forced to resign due to medical reasons.

In his later years he spent much of his time with his children and doting on his grandchildren. He was also an avid reader.

Devdas remained active in the Charlotte's Hindu community despite his failing health and thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

He will be missed terribly by all his family and friends. We Love You Papa.

My Dad was my Best Friend, Problem is I did not Know that when he was alive. I did not realize that I called him with every problem or
non-problem I had. I did not realize how dependent I was on my Dad. My Dad was my pillar of strength all my life. I just did not know how much I was depending on him. Everytime I had a problem, my Papaji was there to help me. I did not even know that I was a grown up as a 48 years old woman till my Dad passed away. I still fought and resisted him like a teenager till the day he died . I never grew up till the day he died. I am so Stupid. Please forgive me Papaji. I am trying to learn from my mistakes. I will miss you forever.
