Dorothy Furr Obituary

MONROE -- Mrs. Dorothy Bundy Spears "Mama Dot" Furr, 85, died February 12, 2002. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2002 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, Chesterfield, SC. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery in Clio, SC. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, February 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Furr was born in Cheraw, SC, a daughter of the late Julius James and Beulah Graham Bundy. She was a retired clerk with Alltel Corporation, and was a former employee of Sears and Seaboard Railroad. Mrs. Furr was first married to the late A.C. Buddy Spears and then to the late Willie A. Furr.
Surviving are her son, Julius James Spears and wife, Judy of Monroe, NC; daughter, Carolyn Spears Benge and husband, Bob of Locust, NC; grandchildren, Bill A. Williams of Alaska, Rick Williams and wife, Hillary of Cumming, GA, Julie Helms of Oakboro, NC, Gregory Spears and wife, Julie of Cary, NC, Steven Spears and Jason Spears and wife, Trisha, all of Monroe, NC; and seven great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hebron Cemetery, c/o Linda Hooper, P.O. Box 454, Bennetsville, SC 29512.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home is serving the Furr family.

I have a lot of childhood memories of Aunt Dot when she would visit Aunt Edna and Uncle Marion. She saved my brother from a spanking one night..that's a long story.
