Edwin T. Kaylor HILTON HEAD ISLAND - Edwin T. Kaylor passed away on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Ed was born on Oct. 20, 1931 in Akron, Ohio to Harry Miller Kaylor, Sr. and Ruth Laverne Kaylor. He attended Kent State University and worked for Allied Department Stores from 1957 through 1970. In 1970 he moved to Charlotte, N.C. to become Corporate Controller for J. B. Ivey & Company. In 1975 he accepted the position of Vice President of Mitchell Distributing Company and remained there until his retirement in 1989. Ed most recently resided in Sea Pines on Hilton Head Island with his wife of 18 years, Gail, where he enjoyed his life-long passion for the game of golf. In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his brother, Harry Miller Kaylor, Jr. of Banning, Calif.; his son, Joseph E. Kaylor, and his wife Robin and their son, Frank of Cornelius, N.C. and his daughter Kristy Ann Barry, her husband Mark and their children, Kate and John all of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at the Island Funeral Home and Crematory on Hilton Head Island. A reception will follow at Sea Pines Country Club.
