Elma Forbis Short
WADESBORO -- Mrs. Short, 94, died Friday, February 9, 2007 in Anson Community Hospital.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM today, Sunday, in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends today from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home and following the service.
Mrs. Short was born in Richmond County on April 6, 1912, a daughter of the late Viola Mae Watkins and Elmer Chester Forbis. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked many years at Belk Department Store in Wadesboro.
Survivors including her son, William F. Short, Jr. and wife, Rita, of Wadesboro; two daughters, Delores S. Harris and husband, Max, of Concord, and Myra S. Small of Kershaw, SC; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Short; a daughter, Betty Rose Beck; and two sons-in-law, Clarence Beck and David Small.
Memorials may be made to The Foundation of Anson Community Hospital, 500 Morven Road, Wadesboro, NC 28170 or the Serenity Garden Project.
Leavitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
