Ernie was good friend from Emory. We graduated together along with my twin sister Ann and Pat Mittenthal. This is sad. Earnie touched many lives.

"Auntie Mame" said, "Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death". Ernie was not one of life's "poor suckers". He came to the banquet that is life and partook, thoroughly enjoying himself and sharing his pleasure with others. We will all miss him. Here's to a life well lived.

Ernie, It's been half a century since we were DBS classmates. You are always a strong supporter of our class re-union activities. In recent years our getting togehter in those regular HK Tuesday dinners do bring back fond memories. Dearest to our heart... you Fat Enrnie laughs will be soarly missed. God bless!

Dear Ernie,
I am glad to know you as a long time friend and mentor. Life is short. Somehow I was back in Charlotte from L.A last week, and we were watching game 7 of the NBA FINAL after you were back from the hostpital last Thursday. That was the most memorable NBA FIANL to me. We were cheering for the Heat, drinking wine, and Italian dinner from your friend next door. we will miss you.

Dearest Ernie, Knowing you had stayed strong and brave to fight for this battle,I hope you are now settled in a best and peace place. Thanks for teaching me throughout the past years,even though i still make mistakes..it surely has been a useful life lesson which will stay with me forever. Ernie had a side of him that was different and unexpected. We were first cousins, and played together from babyhood. Ernie took part in all family gatherings and we had fun. We were also friends where I saw the soft and tender side of Ernie that endeared him to so many of his friends -- of these there were numerous. We enjoyed evenings of get togethers and there were always feasts of good food for all. He was always a jovial and generous host, loved by all. We will miss Ernie and may he rest in peace. Melba, I am so sorry to hear of Ernie's passing. Even though I had never met him, I know Bob Betters had the highest regards for the both of you. My prayers for you and the family and appreciation for all that you have done for the Watson Insurance Agency over the years.
