Frances Jackson Obituary

Frances Cathey Jackson CHARLOTTE - Frances Nell Martin Cathey Jackson, 92, of Charlotte, NC, died on June 27, 2015. She was born April 4, 1923, when her parents, the former Bessie Viola Smith of Fort Mill, SC, and John McLeod Martin of McPhersonville, SC, lived on The Plaza. After graduating from Central High school in 1942, Frances Nell married Walter Howard Cathey of Charlotte. She was NC state campaign director for United Cerebral Palsy for 20 years. She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Walter Howard Cathey, Jr., and wife Helen of Charlotte, Ronald Craig Cathey and wife Sybil of Holland, Michigan and daughter-in-law Corinne Rowe Cathey of Charlotte; ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Charlotte Martin Hawthorne. Her son, John Creighton Cathey and her sister, Betty Martin Ringer predeceased her. Fran lived a life of Christian service and was a member of Pasadena Community Church in St. Petersburg, FL. She leaves us with a legacy of verse and loving letters. A graveside service will be held August 5, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Unity Cemetery, Fort Mill, SC.

I am sorry for your loss...I just happened on to this my husband recently passed away and I saw an old familuar name and realized who it was. My deepest sympathy and may gods hand touch our spirits and guide us through this time.
